Using forged documents and fake corporate seals, he persuaded banks to loan him $350 million. He invented a nonexistent proposition that he called “Project Star” and he used the money to gamble the millions on the stock market, becoming one of Wall Street’s high-rollers. When the FBI caught wind of his swindle, they set up a sting. At his sentencing, prosecutors made an unthinkable mistake. They agreed to let John Ruffo drive himself to prison. What followed was one of the longest and most challenging manhunts in the history of the U.S. Marshals Service. We discover a man whose life was a hall of mirrors. 看完有几个迷惑，第一个是这个片的成本为什么高达7000万？钱花哪里去了，看着还没有1000多万成本的绿衣骑士贵。第二是Eggers的灵气都去哪里了？前作里面大胆cult的元素和引人入胜的叙事都去哪里了，这个片里我看到的只是束手束脚和敷衍了事。PS，片长也有点太长，没有充沛的感情和充足的动机来支撑，显得片子又长又空洞。
a story about a bunch of muscular nordic dudes with heavy English accents angrily hacking each other to death ( due to the lack of a one-child policy ). I don't feel much for those dudes with questionable mental stability, but I feel sorry for the horse who got its head chopped off for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. R.I.P horse.

被IMDB的高分骗了，应该是近年来影院观影体验最煎熬的一部了，刚过半就想离场了。本来中世纪脏不垃圾的画风就已经让人生理不适了，还故意将镜头对准各种骷髅，爆头，死尸，各种血腥长特写，而且不是昆汀那种血腥，而是非常写实的肮脏的静态长镜头大特写！配合吵得人头疼的人兽吼叫，不得不让人怀疑片子是奔着催吐去的。也别扯啥艺术性了，bachelor测试一条都过不了，原著中哈姆雷特的困惑和思考都没有了，就是个男人们杀来杀去，女人和孩子受难的故事。
影像是真的美轮美奂，王子复仇记拍的一点都不燃…大爱北欧风，可惜剧情实在平淡
命运之子在命运降临之时，哭喊着许下命运之誓。愤怒之山在愤怒消逝之前，咆哮着流下燃烧之泪。武士之树在武士现身之时，冷静的种下预言之梦。黑夜之刃在黑夜死亡之后，贪婪的喝下仇恨之血。噩梦与噩梦的撕扯，绝望与绝望的对峙，残酷与残酷的仇视，毁灭与毁灭的轮回。复仇王子的故事，向来冰冷又爆裂。如果你的期待是荡气回肠的宏伟巨作，你肯定会失望，但是如果你把它看成带有戏剧质感的民俗志怪类小故事，嘿，完全超乎期待了亲。形式感与气质上都保留了艾格斯的个人风格，冷峻，阴暗，神秘而幽深，野性而唯美。虽然王子复仇的故事很老套，但至少在视听层面上十分精美，艾格斯对心灵图腾的狂想，对肉体如同雕塑般的光影雕刻，对血与骨的原始质感呈现，已经足够动人心魄。最后想说，朋友们，莫以人多论史诗啊，想看多人打架欧拉欧拉的去看《热血高校》！

按部就班的北欧血腥迷幻版王子复仇记，人物都仿佛毫无感情的脸谱化的提线木偶，除了大型展示恶劣生存环境下黑暗时代文明边缘的残忍之外想不出有什么别的意义了。

The Northman延续了Robert Eggers鲜明诡异的个人色彩，强烈且步步为营的原声带，触动信仰的摄影和美术设计，还有无限次惊艳全场的Anya Taylor-Joy，无一不给这魔幻现实史诗加分。
是那种时间漫长的好看，风景好看，主演好看，直到最后火山的对决才好看
身体美学固然好，大片空洞乏力的文本让人根本没耐心看。虽然是新奇的设定，但愣是演出呆板无趣的迷幻世界了...
Rather than the story itself, Eggers is more concerned with a certain way of filmmaking - let’s say a certain level of visual intensity and an innate authenticity inherited in folklores and mythologies that makes that type of storytelling the dominant narrative form in western cultures. That way he can get deeper into what those cultures are.
