The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 影版还是容量小了点，好多进展没细究就被抛出来了的感觉
南非的种族矛盾非常的激化，电影其实表现了部分白人开始有意识的想要缓解这种矛盾，说到底是因为压迫造成了这样的流血事件，就像当初的我们一样。人没有贵贱之分，无论肤色，民族，国籍，性别，老幼。

改编并不出彩，剧本对于事件现场和南非社会两个尺度下种族冲突的平行刻画都很肤浅，但看得出导演和编剧在质感和节奏上，有意努力模仿同经典的题材/同类型电影，这方面《血腥星期天》是标杆。作为一部中低成本时代背景电影，视觉还是很良心的，尤其是服化道。值得一提的是，前南非军队特战军人创设的G73 Tactical Advisors战术/安保机构为该片提供了警务指挥与战术顾问、演员枪械训练、警察特技群演、警用服装/装具、警用载具（包括直升机）。
真实事件改编，节奏感非常好，全程无尿点。

很燃！编剧和导演带有明显的偏向，把三位MK战士塑造的弱势又强大，暴力又正义！但这是根据真实事件改编的，一分真实四分改编，为自由而战没错，但就真实事件而言，三位主角远没有电影塑造的完美～但凡挟持人质相关的电影，多多少少都会展示斯德哥尔摩症候群，本片也不例外～自由，对普通人，从古至今，都是最贵的！

很清新、温柔的作品。虽然不是bl的世界，但也是美好的，或者说呈现的方式是美好的。
